Varicose veins can be embarrassing and painful. If left untreated, they can lead to leg swelling, pigmentation of the skin of the lower leg and ulcers. Venous ulceration affects 10% of people with varicose veins and can be difficult to heal.
Small veins underneath the skin, known as thread veins, spider veins or reticular veins, may become prominent due to a variety of different reasons. They can cause symptoms of discomfort, itching and irritation as well as being unsightly.
Our consultant, Dr. Zoltán Szeberin will be happy to assess you and your options at a consultation assisted with Doppler ultrasound. He will examine you to confirm your suitability for treatment and identify the most appropriate approach to your vascular condition. The treatment may be medicinal or by the use of sclerotherapy. If required, he would organise and perform any surgery to be undertaken at hospital.
Our vascular surgeon also deals with major vascular problems such as circulation disorders, blood clots, carotid disease, atherosclerosis and aneurysms.
